Well, guess what, Stepford Steinem Feminists? We don’t care if you don’t consider us a part of your cultish club. You see, we have minds of our own. And, unlike you, we respect women and don’t think that they are too stupid to handle life on their own, nor do we think that women are perpetual victims who must be saved from things like “inconvenient” motherhood. We are also tired of your bastardizing the term feminist beyond any recognizable meaning. You are antithetical to feminism and can no longer claim that term as your own. We are taking it back. Not to use, as it’s unnecessary; we know that we have equality already. But, only so that you can no longer use it as a way to promulgate lies in order to further an agenda harmful to all, but particularly to women.

People like this will force women to be the perpetual victims she claims that we true feminists are making other women. When you don’t have control over your own body because some your patriarchal, right wing, Christofascist faction of society succeeded in taking that right away from you, do you know what that makes you? Victimized. When you’re forced to be an incubator for a fetus you didn’t want? Victimized. When your work is undervalued and underpaid? Victimized. When you’re raped and beaten and it’s your fault and no one gives a flying fuck? Victimized.

Real feminists UPLIFT women. We are the ones that fight for women to control our own bodies. We are the ones who have enough fucking common sense to know that getting paid less than a buck while a man does the same job and gets a buck is not equality. And yet this woman tells us we’ve already achieved equality. Do we get equal pay? Are we equally represented in government? Do men equally experience rape and intrarelationship violence with us? No. No. No.

Conservative feminism is an oxymoron. You cannot be conservative when people are trying to take away your right to your own uterus. If feminism is so unnecessary, than get your fucking hands off it and leave it to women who actually understand it.

It’s pretty ironic that the site is called “Hot Air” because that’s exactly what this article (and its author) is full of. As much as I would like to point out all the moronic things she says, it would probably take me about a year because every word in that article is utter trash.
Oh, and I dare her to tell these women and these women that they were wrong to have abortions because of an “inconvenient” pregnancy. She is obviously delusional.

If you respected women then you would trust them to be able to decide, based on their own lives which are affected by hundreds of thousands of variables, whether or not they wanted a child.

If you respected women you would give them control over their own bodies.

Just to be 100% crystal clear, being pro-choice is not the same as being anti-babies. Fuck you for trying to make it into something so black and white. Pro-choice people don’t look at every new mother and say, “Shit, that one got away!” 

We just understand that not everyone who gets pregnant wants to be, or is ready to be, a mother. We understand, to quote Rabble, that sex is not a contract for pregnancy. We understand that contraception is not 100% effective. We understand that rape and incest happen.

We do not believe that women are “incapable of being responsible for their actions.” Hey fuckwit, having a abortion is being responsible for your own actions. Unlike you, though, we believe that just because you happened to get pregnant doesn’t mean you should be forced to give up your body for nine months. 

We do not believe that “motherhood is a punishment.” We just don’t believe that women should be punished for being sexually active. If you want to be a mother, that’s awesome! Once again, we aren’t walking up to happily pregnant women and saying, “Are you sure you don’t want that little sucker outta there?” But you know what? I don’t want to be a mom. If you think that means that I’m going to be celibate my whole life then you’ve got another think coming. 

Pregnancy isn’t some fucking cakewalk. And the fact that you try to make it seem that way with that stupid quip about morning sickness is absolutely abhorrent. Pregnancy is dangerous. Ectopic pregnancies, preeclampsia, and hemorrhaging are just three of the serious side effects that I can think of off the top of my head. And I’m 16 not a fucking doctor.

I wish that contraception was always effective and was easily available to everyone. I wish that rape and incest never occurred. I wish that religions did not try to discourage the use of contraception. I wish we lived in a world where abortions were unnecessary.

But we don’t. So I understand as a woman, as a feminist, and as a fucking human being how important a woman’s right to choose truly is. 

So fuck you. Fuck you and your bullshit and lies. Fuck your propaganda. Fuck your slut shaming. Fuck your condescension. Fuck you for trying to twist the pro-choice movement into something it’s not.
